BROOKLYN BOTANIC GARDEN - NATIVE FLORA GARDEN

Date & Time: Tuesday, May 10, 2:30 - 4:00 PM

Location: Meet at the front entrance into the Native Flora Garden (by the wooden gates) inside Brooklyn Botanic Garden

Guide: Ulrich Lorimer, Curator of Native Flora, Brooklyn Botanic Garden

 

Event Description: Highlights will include many spring ephemerals such as trillium (Trillium spp.), mayapple (Podophyllum peltatum) and violets (Viola spp.).  Indigenous azaleas will also be in bloom including the flame, pinkster and swamp azaleas (Rhododendrom spp.).  A wide variety of ferns will be emerging as well as aquatics such as golden club (Orontium aquaticum) and blue flag iris (Iris versicolor).  Free with admission to the Garden.
